Renewable Energy Books
Books about Solar Energy, Wind Energy, etc.
A lot is being written about renewable energy, solar power, wind energy, tidal energy, biomass and all kinds of other sources of energy production. Some publications are politically driven while others are presenting the situation as it is, backed by reliable research.
We would like to support the reliable sources of information and recommend the worthwile publications. These are books that we have actually read and as a result we want to share our experience with our customers.
For those of you who want to learn more on Solar Power, Wind Energy and all other kinds of renewable energy, we can definitely recommend these books.
Book "Ten Technologies to Save the Planet",
written by Chris Goodall.
This book describes indeed 10 technologies for power generation and replacements for our fossil fuels. It is fascinating to read what the possibilities are for alternative power generation.
It becomes also clear how urgent it is for humanity to pay attention to this matter. First of all alternative energy is no longer just the hobby of the "environmentalists" who are concerned about climate change. More and more it becomes obvious that something needs to be done about CO2 emission. Secondly we have known all along that the fossil fuels we exploit for our power production will run out. And they run out sooner than we would like to think. If we ignore the call for switching to alternative power production our society will come to a screeching halt within the lifetime of most of us.
This book gives an excellent overview of the alternatives for fossil power generation. Anyone who is just slightly interested in this topic will be much better informed after reading this book and able to form a sensible opinion about government and politician initiatives.

Book "The Solar Economy",
written by Hermann Scheer.
Alternative or renewable energy will replace our fossil fuel consumption, whether it is via the forces pushing to reverse the climate change, or the plain fact that we will run out of fossil fuels, sooner than we expect.
This book describes the many technologies currently available for renewable energy applications. However, the author goes much further than the presentation of technologies. They are just a means to an end.
The world economy will have to change in order to solve the fossil fuel problem, or will anyway change as a result of the renewable energy tools being deployed. After reading the book one becomes very optimistic about the alternatives to fossil fuels as well as the positive side effects on society.
